Liz F. Kay is a freelance journalist with more than 10 years of experience reporting and writing for daily newspapers and other publications about education, religion and consumer issues, as well as breaking news.
A native of the Bronx, Liz was a reporter at the Los Angeles Times as part of METPro, a journalism training program, before moving to the Baltimore Sun in 2002. She worked in several of the paper’s suburban bureaus and covered beats including education and religion.

She also served as the main contributor to Consuming Interests, a blog about personal finance and saving money. In addition, Liz helped Baltimore-area readers solve problems they observed in their communities through the paper’s Watchdog feature.
Liz is a graduate of the University of Rochester, with a B.S. in Neuroscience and a journalism minor.
